F/W 12 - My Top Looks from The Runway_Part 3

Final part of my two previous posts F/W 12 Part 1 & F/W 12 Part 2...I can only dream! :(

The Queen of British fashion, Vivienne Westwood, drew inspiration from a very cold place for F/W 12 - Quite literally since models paraded down the runway with frosted beards and white dusted faces. As for the clothes, there were plenty of Westwood's staples like wide striped patterns; also present was an emphasis on fur collars and lapels on outerwear while trousers were baggy and crotches bordered on drop crotch with the 'Westwood' trademark fit.

For Alexandre Herchcovitch's eponymous F/W 12 collection, the Brazilian designer hinted his Jewish roots, with models donning outfits that resembled those of rabbis and some of the garb worn by more Orthodox sects. The collection was chic in its use of proportions and tailoring with stand out graphic geometic prints and chunky blue stripes.

Louis Vuitton
's new Mens Style Director Kim Jones created a worldly and cosmopolitan collection with an emphasis on the Vuitton man traveling the globe. Key looks included Jones' popular fringed safari scarf as well as velvet jackets and a crocodile coat (above). The collection was chic and modern and will no doubt be a hit with the commercial success it deserves.

My 'New Found Love' brand MSGM (Previous Post) incorporaed pattern on pattern on pattern with bright and effervescent prints dominating the collection that emphasized a narrow silhouette with cropped proportions...A 'Pick N Mix' for clothing

Moschino
's F/W 12 collection foundation was in the form of a brick-print suit (Who copied who?...A similar print was seen in the JP Gaultier F/W Collection) as well as white threaded exposed seams. The play on sartorialism was an interesting concept but in terms of wearability it perhaps needed a better execution as a result of such a powerful focal print.

Missoni
's F/W 12 collection showed some exemplary knitwear in a collage of colour mixes. Angela Missoni and her team also showed some radiant glowing puffers with cool patterns and prints.

Mario Queiroz
created a collection for F/W 12 that was a mixed bag of Renaissance references and a quirky take on modernity. Sharply tailored suits with fun prints, patterns and textures.

Pringle of Scotland
's F/W 12 was a mix of quirky and military-influences. The colour palette was mostly bright solids of orange and red against muted navy, beige and gray. The cashmere pullovers were quite fetching while the shoes had a tinge gradient of blue-green at the toe, a nice touch of pizzazz! It was a well executed collection with clean line silhouettes throughout.

Amapo
's youthful F/W 12 collection included colorful prints, paneled braces on clothing, and a futuristic thread connecting the collection throughout. One of my favourites for the youth!

Marc Jacobs
' line offers a sharp and modern take on menswear classics for F/W 12; included in the collection are large prints on jumpers, shirts, outerwear and pretty much everything else. Cropped proportions were seen on many pieces like a peacoat, as well as most of the trousers. Stand-outs were the mustard looks in the collection and the red and navy colour blocking seen in the range of raincoats.

Cavalera
's bohemian F/W 12 was romantic with delicate pastilles but still preserved the hard edge biker look of the brand. Particulary liked the laceless Converse look-alikes with embroidered symmetrical floral print.
