Zara Man - A/W '12 Lookbook

Once again Zara presents an impressive lookbook for A/W '12 concentrating on what they do best - tailored formalwear and functional conventional winter attire which is perfect for winter journeys on your way to the office as the bitter cold mornings begin to set in.

The colour palette is nothing out the norm with navy, black, grey, velvet red and chocolate brown but as a combination this allows pieces to be mixed and matched with ease - for instance the grey suit and blue suit could be split into four looks - the blue suit jacket and grey trousers would be a great way to give a contrasted edge to a traditional tailored suit.

Suits overall are perfectly structured and a great fit to the body with an emphasis on the lapel - from wide, slim and narrow to two-tone - a classic approach of Zara's attention to detail and taking the latest trends seen on the runway - altogether a very retro feel, especially with the gold buttons on the double breasted jacket and the teaming of a black polo neck jumper.

Where Zara really sells itself is with their dramatic outerwear choices. From the pimped out fur accent on the three quarter length coat, at a reasonably priced £89.99, the studded leather biker and the navy military jacket with velvet red accented detailing - all three exude runway style and sophistication and are definitely on my wishlist for this winter.

I often find bag options are a second thought on the high street for the male market and only Zara has presented us with a quality range for the working male of today - I'm amazed to discover the faux crocodile embossed briefcase is priced at £49.99, a design which I would expect to be three or four times the price - I doubt anyone would ever know it wasn't designer.

Although the lookbook mainly draws attention to office attire a particular favourite casual wear piece in the lookbook is the denim slim fit jeans with vertical red strip detail, adding a stylish edge to the classic slim fit jean - at £39.99 it's just a shame that Zara don't give a choice of length options as I find their trousers are often too long for anyone under 5'10.

For A/W '12 Zara have providing us with runway looks at affordable prices, taking note the latest modern young trends. The A/W '12 lookbook presents confident, clean cut looks that are designed to create a capsule wardrobe with ease for a fresh A/W wardrobe.

I look forward to treating myself to at least two or three of these pieces in time for the Scottish winter to cheer me up from the shorter days and longer nights...
