If there's a label that defines quality and craftmanship it's 'Made in Britain'. My recent discovery is Chapman, a company which produces hand crafted bags in their Tannery Road workshops in Carlisle, Cumbria. Their range of bags is truly authentic to Britain, with designs that are timeless yet in keeping with the 'Heritage' trend of recent seasons.
Shoulder bags, totes, messenger bags, rucksacks, holdalls, laptop bags, briefcases and wash bags are all offered in a range of styles, fabrics and colours - you can even request your own customised design if you want something that extra special to fit your unique style.
The selection is vast but my particular favourite has to be the warm and cosy looking Yorkshire Wool Collection - made from wool woven in
a Yorkshire mill and available in Cobalt Blue and Charcoal Grey. The authentic material is bonded with a striking red
cotton lining to form a waterproof and hard wearing material making it ideal to be used as your everyday bag.
Personally I would much rather spend £200 on a Chapman rather than
a mass produced designer brand as I feel I can can appreciate
the traditional hand crafted manufacturing techniques to be willing to spend a little extra on 'true' quality.
