Originally adapted to the harsh and heavy conditions of manual labour, overalls/dungarees hit their fashion stride in the 90s when the likes of Marky Mark (Wahlberg, pre-transition to serious actor), Tupac Shakur and Will Smith introduced them to the streetwear vernacular.

The menswear SS16 collections referenced a nod to these mechanic-like overalls, showcasing them in dark blacks, cool toned denims and dusky greens. Keep denim overalls low-key with a white tee and a simple trainer or maximise the overall aesthetic of a black pair by keeping all other clothing darker, for example a breton stripe tee or check shirt finished with a chunky boot.
