Milan Fashion Week Highlights // Versace SS15

For SS15 Donatella Versace tells us “I was thinking of Cuba, I like the attitude of it. I love the colours of the buildings and I love the graffiti street art, which inspired the leather and prints.” Casa Versace was all pink suits, a glamorous yet relaxed holiday mood and palm print suiting, complete with familiar Versace accents of net vests, lace-up leather and a swimwear section of tiny white Roman-inspired briefs.

Suited garments that we’re tailored into a masculine Greek aesthetics – made in silk, leather and suede which all express the freedom in dressing. The colours consistent of pink, white, camel, blue, grey and of course, black. Gold jewel detailing couldn’t be missed, sparkling consistently across the collection which finished off the Romanian tailoring. Shapes were triangular and with a masculine eighties feel but set off by more traditionally feminine fabrics including delicate macramé embroidered shirts depicting Havana streetscapes.
