Soulland x Babar ‘The Elephant’ Collection

Soulland becomes the first menswear brand to license original Babar the Elephant children’s book artwork by Jean de Brunhoff. Their new spring capsule collection “Babar Meets Soulland” pulls illustrations from Jean de Brunhoff’s ’Histoire de Babar’ work from 1931. Key pieces of the collection are short and long-sleeved classic button-down oxford shirts and shorts, along with all-over print of the original Babar artwork. The line is complemented by t-shirts and a sweatshirt.

Silas Adler, Head Designer and founder of Soulland explains “I have been a fan of the Babar universe since I was four years old, so it was a great honor being able to work on this collaboration. I was particularly inspired by a story from the first book, where Babar goes to the tailor to get his first suit; a bright green suit. I like the link and the relevance to menswear in that story. All drawings are originals drawn by the author and ‘father’ of the Babar universe, Jean de Brunhoff.”

The collection will launch in the Paris-based concept store Colette on April 3rd and land at Opening Ceremony (New York, Los Angeles), Goodhood (London), Hunting & Collecting (Brussels), SOTO (Berlin), Voo (Berlin) mid-April.
